Rao Parimisetti

Venkateswara Rao Parimisetti is a veterinarian from India who completed his BVSc & AH and MVSc in the discipline of Veterinary Parasitology. He worked on molecular characterization of poultry Eimeria species using PCR and multiplex PCR for his master’s thesis. He was working as an Assistant Professor at Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University, India prior to joining as Ph.D candidate in September 2019 under Professor John Gilleard at the University of Calgary. His Ph.D research involves developing long-read and short-read metabarcoding approaches using genetic markers to characterize bovine Eimeria communities.
